Welcome!!

DuncanGlad you dropped by!! My name's Duncan. I'll also answer to Dunk, Duncan-head or Duncan-stein. I'm very pleased to say that I am the inspiration for this site. I'm a very sweet guy, as you can plainly see.

I'm a pound-rescue Shepherd-Collie mix. I'm about 14 years old and still hanging tough, although I have arthritis. I eat stuff every day (my friends, Ed & Carolyn, try to hide it in pieces of tasty snacks) that makes me feel better, though.

I have to say that I've had better weeks. I'm having a little more trouble lately with my hips. It's been harder to stand than usual and I almost sat down in my own poop!! Embarrassed much?! I'll say! And there was also some guy in my yard and that really annoyed me. My best friend, Ed, said that it was a guy putting in a new patio, but that doesn't really cut any ice with me. What's he doing out there? Doesn't he have his own yard? And what's a pa-dee-yo?

Aside from my hip problems, I'm doing okay. My doctor told Carolyn that my 'hart' -- whatever that is -- is "amazing."

Like I said, my best friend is Ed. We grew up together. There was another kid here for awhile. Hold on a sec ... Ed! Hey, Ed! What was that other kid's name? Chon? What? Spell it for me. S-e-a-n. Oh! Okay. Sean. Of course. He was a real good guy, too, but he's gone now. I don't know where he went, but he does come back sometimes and it sorta scares me. I don't really recognize him right away. Weird, huh? You'd think I'd remember. :-/ Anyway ... what was I saying? .. Oh. Right. I used to love to chase Ed's socks, but I just don't have the energy for that anymore. Oh, I'll make a half-hearted attempt if he tries to take any of my stuff, but it's just for show. But, even though I'm getting too old to play with him, I still really like having Ed around.

My favorite hobbies now are drinking fresh rain water from little puddles and nosing around under the tool shed for the whatchamacallit ... Ed? Oh, yeah. Ground hog. :-)

Ed's dad, Ron, visits almost every Saturday and they go out -- hunting, I guess -- and they bring back the best stuff for me to eat. They call is 'peetsuh' and 'cheezbergurs.' I love that stuff! Sometimes, after we eat, we go outside and do what they call 'yardwurk.' They take turns holding on to the neck of this really stupid animal (that they keep locked in the little house in the back yard -- I wonder what it did to deserve that?) while it pulls them around the yard, chewing up -- and spitting out! -- the grass. When they pull its leg, it growls really, really loud, but they don't seem to care. Every time the thing stops, they give it a drink and pull its leg again! Most definitely NOT my favorite thing. Anyway, I mostly watch out for them while they do the work. I make sure other things don't get past me and eat them.

But that's enough about me. Why don't you send me your stories? Go to my blog and tell me about yourself. And I hope you come back to visit!
